Take Action
Rights aren’t given. They are taken. And kept.
Here is how we fight back.
1. Organize
Strength in Numbers
They can ignore one person. They can’t ignore a neighborhood. Start a block club, a tenant union, or an ICE-watch group to protect your community.
- Host a weekly meeting
- Create a phone tree
- Identify local leaders
2. Protest
Make Noise
Peaceful assembly is a First Amendment right. Use it. Marches, sit-ins, and boycotts disrupt the status quo.
- Know your protest rights
- Film ICE and DHS agents
- Stay safe & stay together
3. Petition
Demand Change
Force them to listen. Petitions, letters, and showing up at City Hall meetings put pressure on officials.
- Write your representative
- Speak at public comments
- Run for office
4. Litigate
Sue Them
When they break the law, take them to court. Civil rights lawsuits have changed history.
- Document everything
- Find pro-bono legal aid
- Support legal defense funds
When The Government Turns On You
If the system fails completely, remember: Civil Disobedience is a moral duty when laws are unjust.
“One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.” — MLK Jr.
